When I worked in the mines out in the Australian outback it would sometimes hit around 55C in the air (130F). You'd get given these 5 liter water containers and go through two in a day.

I mean I made a 6 figure salary for moving bags of cement all day (with no living costs at all, not even food) so I really wasn't complaining too much. Just had to drink water, stay covered up and watch out for machinery that could kill you horribly.

It gets pretty hot here, too. But not 130 degrees hot.

I had a pair of crocs I used for gardening and I left them out in the sun one August day. They went from a size 7 down to a baby shoe while in the sun.

We'd very occasionally have to call off work because of the heat. Usually if there was no wind and the work was 100% outside.

The biggest tell would be one guy would start acting really fucking weird and angry for no reason at all. Heat stress and dehydration symptoms are odd.

Sounds like a guy I knew who used to work in the diamond mines in southern NWT/Nunavut. Absolutely miserable existence but it's over 6 figures, you're literally pocketing everything after tax (because everything is paid for), and you get extra pay for working so far north.

There's a cut off for global warming at 2050 where the worst possible scenario could take place. That's why you see nations setting goals for going completely green on or before that year. Scientists are warning politicians that it could come much sooner.

So what is the scenario if emissions remain the same after 2050?

Areas of the world would be rendered uninhabitable due to the heat. I'm talking about average temperatures of 112 degrees during their winters. Sometimes it could go as high is 140 degrees. The Middle East and Africa would be hit particularly hard and people would have to either move for colder climates or live and work in special air-conditioned environments. Going outside would require an air-conditioned environmental suit at times. Certainly, very few wild living organisms would survive, creating dead zones of flora and fauna.
