I saw these at walmart before black friday for cheap. 30 bucks for cheapest model in store.

They also sold a 1.5qt deep fryer for 10 bucks.

If you want fried food actually learn to fry your foods. This thing is only good if you eat frozen chicken tendies on a regular basis...which actually this is potd so you might get your moneys worth.

none of the stuff he made in the thread was frozen food though, ok?

And going by pics looks nothing like actual fresh made fried food.

Even reviewers who were onviously paid to say nice things about the device say its not the best with frying raw meats/veggies.

Those pickles and jalapenos looked like crap. Surprised nobody commented on them I thought there were other cooks on this board!

I've had decent success with hamburgers, hot dogs, and, uh, sliced turnip.

Abysmal failure trying to fry a shredded cabbage, though...

I made some deep fried pickles and cheese curds last night

They look way more appetizing than the air fried ones but I've never had air fried anything before.

Looks good! Did you use a box breading or do you have a recipe? I havent attempted fried pickles yet and want to copy a batter I know will work.

i used panko breadcrumbs with black pepper and garlic powder.

dredge in plain four, beaten egg coat and then into the breading. with pickles you want to make sure you pat the excess liquid off with a paper towel before you dredge/egg/bread them.

Ill probably leave them on a peper towel while making the batter. Thanks for the info on that.

We are planning on using the claussen spicy pickle chips.

not gonna lie, with jens pic, i thought she made some wackass chicken nuggets because the exposed cheese curd in the middle sort of also looks like a piece of chicken

i'm a little sad i couldn't make fun of her freaky chicken nugs

You all are tempting me to try frying again, but last time I did I was around 11 and almost burnt down the kitchen (oil caught on fire so I threw water on it).

I only use a thin layer of oil when cooking since then.

I do love fried chicken though (and french fries) so maybe I should start trying to fry again.

I make killer roasted potatoes, which are a good substitute for fries, but..yeah...making my own fries would rule.
