I've been robbed at gunpoint a total of four times. Twice at work, twice walking home. This is all MY OPINION.

It feels surreal. It feels like a movie. You've seen it on TV. Maybe a friend has told you about getting mugged at gunpoint. They talk about it and you say what you think you would have done. But at the end of the day it wasn't you with a gun pointed at you. A blink and your on the floor. One wrong move and its over. You can't see it coming. A knife, or bat you have a chance. A duck or dodge. Run fast enough or long enough they may not get you. A gun pointed at your chest where do you go. Maybe its fully loaded. Maybe its empty.

Or maybe you were like me. Standing there dumbfounded thinking "are you fucking serious?" How could this possible happen to me. Holy shit I'm dizzy. My fucking head hurts. "Yes I'm serious ninja give me your fucking shit!" Jesus Christ I wasn't thinking it. I said it out loud. My thoughts weren't my own.

I emptied my pockets turned them inside out. My wallet, mp3 player, and flip phone gone.

By the time I've gotten robbed at my job (gamestop) it wasn't even fear. It was inconvenience. He walks in and I give him a headnod. I turn back around and continue to work on shipment. Wait was the guy wearing sunglasses and a hood indoors? Its fucking hot outside. I turn back around and he pulls out the gun. I dont even hear what he says I'm already opening the register and grabbing a bag at the same time. We have customers in the store and he proceeds to tell them to get on the ground. Even points a gun at a little girl. A toddler that doesn't understand what the hell is going on. The lady grabs her child and puts her on the floor.

"HURRY THE FUCK UP" Why is this guy screaming I'm moving super fast? I already got two of the three registers empty. I look up and my coworker is frozen. Shaking in place with a bag in his hand. In his moment he could not do shit. He was scared shitless. He saw his life leaving his body. I snatched the bag out of his hand popped it open and put the money in the bag.

It doesn't really matter who is holding the gun at the end of the day. Whether its a thief, your best friend, a family member or a cop. Especially a cop. They are screaming commands while they point the gun. And you are scared. I truly hope it never happens to you, because one wrong move to the person holding it and your life may end right there. Because in that moment it feels surreal. It feels like a movie.

I got robbed once at gunpoint (though they had the gun on the guy I was hanging out with not on me). Scary shit. Can't imagine doing that four times.

Uh yeah, it's pretty easy. You literally don't have to do anything. There's no effort involved on your part. The person pointing the gun is the one who has to hold it up and all that

And I've only had to pull my gun out once.

and this is why I hate people who victim blame cop shooting victims. it's easy to make a mistake in the haze of it all. that's why people always dangle their arm near their waist or whatever. they don't even know what they are doing, and they don't expect to be shot cause they know they don't have a gun and feel innocent. but the cop can't read their mind and is scared and only cares about their own life so they shoot.

Thankfully I've never had to find out what it is like first hand. I have no clue what I would do. I'd have no qualms giving them everything on me though. I never understood the people that try and fight back. My life isn't worth whatever I have with me.

sometimes it's cause they are trying to take a family heirloom. like a wedding ring that's been in the family for 100 years or more.

My brother's apartment wa broken into by 3 armed guys like 10 years ago on either Christmas or Christmas Eve. His wife ran into the bathroom and locked the door immediately, they figured she had a cell phone or something and left after stealing a 5 year old laptop and pistol whipping my brother. This was in Bellevue, wa, a really nice area.

No they were all black. I am also black. Three of four robberies were in areas where white people don't live. Being dead serious too. I graduated in 2007 from Evans High School.

I've never been robbed, but I've been near people that have been killed and visually seen a couple people killed.

Only time I had a gun pointed at me was when the cops was clearing the house I'm staying at because the nephew of the people I stay with ran from undercover cops after making a drug deal.

He thought hiding in the house was like safe-base or something.

I was in the back bathroom taking a shower.

Heard a rumbling noise and started getting dressed when someone knocked on the door and said "Sheriff's Department !!!".

Thought it was someone messing with me and when I opened the door there was a barrel and flashlight pointed at me.

He asked me to open the door fully so he can see all of me and both my hands.

After he seen I was no threat he allowed me to finish dressing and he walked with me into the living room where the other cops were and they told me and the nephews grandparents what happened.

We had to sit there like 30min waiting for a warrant to come through so they can search the nephews room.

Whole thing lasted about a hour.

So technically I guess I wasn't robbed but technically I had to give a statement and go to court for it. That specific guy robbed that gamestop 4 times. On the final time he shot my assistant manager in the leg.

I've had a friend in middle school that jokingly pointed a gun at me when I was hanging out at his place.
Even though I knew he wasn't going to hurt me, I damn near had a mental breakdown at the sight of it pointing at me.
