Like not just telling them what to do and then just doing it all automatically but where you're actually in control of shit?

Aren't some of the The Sim's games able to be directly controlled? To some extent, bur I'm also looking for something more modern with a wider scope of features. Everything I keep finding are recommendations for Sims games or Harvest Moon. Aren't some of the The Sim's games able to be directly controlled? All of the Sims games. In fact I don't think any of them have semi-decently designed "auto pilot" modes so you basically have to play them all manually for the best results, unless you're doing weird funky experiments. --- i dont like signatures ... Megaman50100 posted...Aren't some of the The Sim's games able to be directly controlled? I should clarify what I mean by that. I mean I want to be more involved in what I'm doing, not just pointing, clicking, and saying do this or that. Having them leave off for work with nothing going on for me as the player while they're doing that. Certain Sims like Urbz for example t least made the jobs interactive, albeit with QTE's but I'm just looking for something more involved. Maybe I should've said something more like Harvest Moon, but just in regards to the open world, relationship building, various jobs and work to do, life building etc. It doesn't necessarily have to be a farm game just something with those kinds of features and ideally more modern than A Wonderful Life for example with it's by modern standards limited options and tiny map. I was hoping something like that on a larger scale and with more depth has come out by now. Maybe I'll just look into Sims 4, Stardew Valley, or A Wonderful Life on PS4. --- "I have bitten both of my children" - IfGodCouldDie 10/22/17 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sims 3 and 4 both have expansion packs where you can get interactive jobs (my favorite in 3 was the interior design job, since you could royally screw up peoples' houses and get a bonus for meeting all the criteria lmao).
Unfortunately I can't really think of any other games though :\ --- i dont like signatures ... Copied to Clipboard!

I play something like GTA where it just does one big bulk loading and then a bunch of short loads here and there and during cutscenes. Playing something like The Sims where I have to load every time I leave my block is annoying as hell. I thought this was 2017 :/ --- "I have bitten both of my children" - IfGodCouldDie 10/22/17 ... Oh, well on console the load times aren't too long, there's just a loading screen for everything outside of your block. Which if you're running multiple Sims at once in different places that gets annoying fast. Oh well, I guess the game I'm looking for doesn't really exist yet so looks like I'll probably end up settling for one of the e I mentioned. --- "I have bitten both of my children" - IfGodCouldDie 10/22/17 ... The fact that nobody has done a AAA game where you can choose your own path for working, building relationships, making decisions that matter, time passage and aging in a nice large world is genuinely surprising to me. It would be a bitch to develop but could potentially be amazing if done right.
The only things that seen to have tried are indie games with retro style or chibi looking stuff and outdated game mechanics Looks like I'm stuck with Sims 4 and/or Stardew Valley if I want something new and current gen. A question about Stardew Valley, is there more to the game then just grinding farming and talking to people? Like is there actually other stuff to do and things that actually change with time or based of choices/relationships? --- "I have bitten both of my children" - IfGodCouldDie 10/22/17 ... I don't know, maybe you'd get that from Sims Online since it's... online life simulator? I imagine there'd be more interaction there, instead of just sending your character to work and watching six hours pass in game.

Probably because the AAA devs don't see a market for that kind of game, especially for the costs that it's take to develop it. AAA seems to be more about playing it safe with what works and pumping up the production values to make an "interactive movie-like experience". --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sims games on both the PSP and GBA were much different than other Sims games. You directly controlled your character and no one else.
