Zillow and RedFin are the banes of my existence... Found so many awesome looking houses on there when I was shopping around and then went and checked them out and they turned out to be garbage. And then you get teased by the things that look so perfect but they're like 50k over your price limit.

I saw stuff like this in our area, and I was always entertained by the thought of splitting it like three or four ways with some other people but then obviously you have the idea that if someone wants to move out you gotta make up the difference.

That sucks. My 1,900 sqft house is 49 years old and cost $132k (5 years ago, I could probably sell it for $150k now) in a nice suburb in a nice neighborhood.

my home was $170k for 2000sqft on 10acres with brick exterior, fireplace, fully hardwood floors and finished basement. i have to commute, but nice homes in michigan are dirt cheap if you dont mind living away from people.

mine is pretty much the same age and size

parents bought it for ~300k

now it's worth >1million
