This doesn't count the profits made by books, comics, video games, merchandise, and other licensing. Took less than 5 years, that was a hell of a purchase.

I guess you're right, they only get 65-70% of the ticket sales. But still if you counted all of their profits it probably took 3, 4 years tops to make back what they spent.

Their stock has been fluttering due to cord cutting hitting ESPN and TV networks, but once they get that streaming service up in 2019 should be off to the races. After the FOX deal closes, Marvel, Star Wars, and then Mickey etc they're a content powerhouse.

I'll be interested in seeing what streaming service they come up with, but I'm not looking forward to paying money for individual subscription services. I subscribe to Netflix because it's a content aggregate, meaning I really only need the one sub. Now with Hulu, HBO Go, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and whatever Disney is cooking up, each with its own smattering of content exclusives, it's looking like it would cost more than a standard cable package to get all of that content. Not a fan, personally.

Disney will now have majority stake in Hulu, since they owned 30%, Fox owned 30%, Comcast owns 30% and Time Warner owns the last 10%. The Fox deal makes it 60% for Disney. Likely they will push to buy it and that will be Disney's service, probably rebranded.
