I don't have a PS3 or 4 but I rented a PS3 in a video game parlor and finished Ground Zeroes. I watched Phantom Pain on Youtube. This has to be the most violent Metal Gear Game.

PP had good gameplay that was overshadowed by a terrible story, awful pacing, and misuse of open world.

What made Phantom Pain's gameplay bad? You can press R1 to knock an enemy out. In Ground Zeroes you have to repeatedly press it and awkwardly go through a chocking animation multiple times to knock out an enemy.

There wasn't a single area in two large maps as satisfying to stealth through as the base in Ground Zeroes

I think that they are both very good videogames. It's unfortunate that TPP opens up more questions than it wraps up. By no means are they topping the first 3 Solid games.

Ground Zeroes is great. TPP is fun to play but kind of an unfinished, poorly executed idea.

I did, actually. Just disappointed that the story was unfinished.

I enjoyed them both.

and I thought that PP had a good story, it just wasn't satisfactory by MGS standards because it didn't have the kinda narrative you've come to expect from playing the other games.

My issue with TPP's story is that I don't exactly feel like it did anything new or especially creative. Maybe the language stuff but that and the overall narrative was handled very clumisly

I hated how much great gameplay TPP had. I hated that it was just a VIDEOGAME and not an interactive movie, ala Dragons Lair or MGS4.

No, just playing. TPP was sweet as hell. The lack of a story made it even better. I wasn't bored to death watching cutscenes. I was actually playing a game, which I seem to enjoy.

People shit on MGS4 for too much cutscenes and not enough gameplay.

Thn people shit on MGS5 for too much gameplay and not enough story.

Frustrating. Hell, I'd remove literally every cutscene from TPP if I could. Gaming > watching.
