2 Guiness World Record holding cats in Detroit were reported missing after a house fire gutted the family home...and now it's been reevealed that the cats are DEAD!!

Arcturus and Cygnus, both 2 year olds were killed a house fire 6 weeks ago as their owners, Will and Lauren Powers escaped and even opened doors as they fled in hopes the felines would follow..but they were told the bad news upon inspection of the cats bodies being found from firefighters..

Will said "We confirmed today that Cyrgnus and Arcturs remained hidden in our home and succumbed to smoke inhalation"

Arcuturus holds the record for being the TALLEST domestic cat measuring 19 inches while Cygnus has the world's longest tail at 17 inches.

The couple described in a heartbreaking post how they made every effort to ensure the pets would escape as will claims to have opened as many doors as he could upstairs and downstairs and searched in vain for the pets but couldn't find them and was physically removed by fire rescue and law enforcement

The couple said they were grateful for the time they had with the cats and wanted people to remember them for their personalities and love for each other...

2 other FEMALE cats, Sirius and Yuki also disappeared following the fire but there's no evidence they died in thehome and the search continues.

It was determined that it was an electrical fire from a MASSAGE CHAIR that started the fire
