For fucks sake we put "In God we trust" on our money, most of our leaders are Christians or at least describe themselves as Christians, Christianity is the most represented religion on Television with several networks just full of people constantly preaching for money and fame and most kids don't even learn about other religions until High school. How are we not a Christian nation? It is it because it's not official like how everybody here speaks english but it isn't our official language?

Is there someone claiming this isn't a Christian-dominated nation?

Conservatives who keep saying Christianity is under attack all the time and how it's starting to be seen as negative to be a christian in today's america. I just want to know where the hell they got that idea from. I mean I live in Texas, Christianity is the only religion I've ever seen practiced here and talked about, even as a kid, I only knew of Jewish holiday's as those things people on TV did. Around here there's a church on damn near every street corner, right now there are 4 different churches within walking distance of me along with a charter school and right outside my window looking at my neighbor's front yard their van says "Christian day care"

The funny thing is, Jesus himself would condemn most of the most vocal Christians in this country.

It's not expressly mandated by the federal government. I mean, people can call the U.S. a 'Christian nation' all they want, but it has no legal standing.

but this isn't official or anything, it's purely due to convention and tradition. as more and more of the population shifts away from Christianity, i think our nation will eventually reflect that.

It's not a Christian nation because our laws and government are not based on Christianity. I don't think anyone argues that the US isn't heavily Christian culturally and socially

America is not Christian. Many who claim they are aren't followers of Christ. Christ would condemn most of these Christians including ones that drink and use guns and revere those weapons over him. Football can be classified as idolatry with the way we treat it. Going to church Sunday is not enough. Take up your cross and follow him.

Plus the problem with the term Christian nation is people (namely those in power) try to use it to push their own ideas and policy. For example, abortion. Its a hot button issue and youll hear people say as a Christian nation......no. Just because the majority may practice Christianity doesnt mean we are a nation that should dictate its laws around Christianity. So when people say we arent a Christian nation its usually in that context.
