The world's smallest inhabited island is named "Just Room Enough".and for good reason because the tiny speck of land off Alexandria Bay in New York State has enough room just for the house and a tree..that's it!

It's one of the 1864 islands off St. Lawrence River that separates New York and Ontario and is part of the Thousand Islands archipelago

Once known as "Hub Island" it was purchased by a family in 1950 known as the "Sizelands" where they planted a tree and built a cottage that took nearly every square inch of available dry land and renamed it to Just Room Enough.

It was intended to be a small weekend getaway but now it's gotten tourists looking at it

It's 3300 square feet or 1/13 of an accre, big enough for a tennis court

that's awesome, something like you'd build in Minecraft. how do you get there, though? must have a dock in the back?

wouldn't want to actually live there, since it's too likely to flood and going anywhere would be a pain in the ass.

You just have to not go anywhere. And get lots of stuff per trip. Ordering stuff would suck, though. Either they would have to take a boat to you every time. Or you would have to get it shipped to a PO Box. But with the Amazon drones, that would be a non-problem.

I would probably like it, for at least a little.

First off, it's fucking awesome and I'd love to live in a home on a smallish island but... between global warming and the housing market, that place is going to be underwater in five years.

I'm sure that there are smaller islands with homes on them, though.
