I guess... but he looks older than that to me. Seems like he'd be a bit older than that too to be so hung up on the original NES. So he was only 7 or 8 when playing all those video games he's complaining about? I would have expected more like 9 to 10. I don't know... James might be pushing back that 40 number, lol.

I think he's just a classic gaming nerd fan. And I think most of those games he made videos about, he played for the first time.

The videos were Mike does a voiceover are really poorly written. He needs to let a professional do a rewrite, because his writing is REALLY poor.

As it turns put, the main Epic Rap Battles guys are just a few years older than me and they started in an improv group at a local college that I went to, and when I found this out, I remember seeing that same improv group perform at that college during a high school field trip, so they were probably there at the time. It's one of those neat little 'small world' moments.

guy in the tool t-shirt was actually my RA one of my years in the dorms. Cool guy, they had a pilot back in like 2010 but nothing ever came from it. They haven't released a video in 4 years, was hoping they would succeed. Joe Berats deserved to succeed. Great guy.

I started watching AVGN just a couple years ago and immediately started binge watching all of their early shows because I found it fascinating. I'm not surprised they're about to turn 40 because James came across to me as mid 20's in those earlier vids. Also him being born in 1980 would fit in with the huge nostalgia of the NES. And yeah, never been a fan of Mike, although he does actually put in serious work on the channel on and off camera - I just think he comes off as a weird dude on camera. I still mostly just watch the content that just features James, as AVGN or as his regular personality.

i believe it. the first AVGN vid was way back in 2004. that's 13 years ago so he would have been 24 then. i then being born in 1980 you would have been 5 when the nes came out and 10 when snes came out. so the nes and snes would have been your childhood.

Because I can remember when I thought people in their 40s were old as shit but every year it seems younger. Especially when I meet guys in their 40s with a full head of hair and don't dress like a dad.

I'm 24 and I feel simultaneously young and old. I feel like a really old kid.

What do you mean still? Young people need more sleep than older people. After your teen years it levels off to 6-8 hours. I don't think 4 hours is healthy for anyone.

I have that "Rich Man" disease meaning that I do have any side effects from sleeping that little. It's been like that for most of my life, even back in high school. 3-5 hours of sleep a night, never had a set an alarm clock.

Well if you wake up at certain points in your sleep cycle you won't feel tired. That's my hunch when people say they only sleep 4 or 6 hours. You still need more, but you can wake up at those times without immediately feeling the effects. You will also have a tendency to wake up earlier if you have a lot of stuff planned the next day because it's on your mind.

That's precisely what bugs me about Mike. And if they are playing a 2 player game Mike always blames James when he dies. It's quite annoying.
