Starting a fresh game, I know literally nothing about it. HALP!

Apparently the questionnaire thing suggests I be a Toreador?

Patch stuff, mod the game, play with cheats. Then play however you want to play.

Unless you got the GOG version you absolutely need at least an unofficial patch to even get it to display correctly... But it sounds like you may be past that point.

Whatever you do, I recommend not starting as Nosferatu (which is like this game's Hardcore difficulty imo) or Machiavelli (you'll miss out on a ton of information, this is recommended for a second or third playthrough).

Well, how do you think you're going to want to play? If you're looking to go the melee route you should probably go with either a Brujah or Gangrel. If you think you'll be using firearms more frequently then I'd say either a Toreador or a Ventrue. Tremere is the only class with blood magic so if you want a mage-ish playthrough that's who to pick.

Malkavian is my favorite class, but I would wait until at least a second playthrough before you play one. They're insane and not only does their conversation choices reflect that, but they also have a type of insight ability that allows them to read/hear the minds of others (which could potentially spoil a thing here or there).

Nosferatu is the only choice of the bunch that straight up look like monsters, and as such is the only class where you can't walk openly in the city hubs without violating the Masquerade. You'll need to hide in shadows and travel the sewers to get from city to city. It's a neat way to play, but can be a little daunting.

Anybody got a clean download link for a patch? I can try to download it on my phone and transfer it if it's not too big

Can you connect your phone to your PC? If so you could download the patch on that and then transfer it.

Toreador is basically the guns class. Malkavian is a similar case, as he can do several things, but works best as an alternative gun user.
Brujah for melee weapons
Gangrel for unarmed
Tremere for magic
Nosferatu for stealth
Forgot about Ventrue

Intimidation and seduction are overall inferior to persuasion

Research is the most powerful skill because it nets you upgrades to other skills without spending extra experience.

At certain points in the game you get free upgrades to skills if you are low enough. If playing Toreador keep your firearms skill at 2, and use the other category to upgrade your proficiency with guns. By the time you get to Hollywood, there is a side quest in which you can upgrade your Firearms skill from 2 to 3 for free, while still having a relatively high proficiency with guns at that point in the game.

Here's the unofficial patch. Although I'd argue while it certainly helps, the game is still playable without it. My very first run of the game was without the patch.

Forgot about Ventrue

Ventrue is so fun to play. Dump points into Dominate and Fortitude, then you can just force every enemy to kill themselves and use trance to get more blood. With fortitude, attacks almost just bounce off of you.

Make sure to put some points into guns or melee as back up though. Dominate won't work on other vampires.

I think you'll have a hard time playing completely blind. There's text and stuff that you need to read. I'm sorry but I don't think the game is for you.
