Disgaea 5 demo on switch.

I just wanted to try it out because I've never played a disgaea game before.

The art is amazing. Already fell in love with the characters. Gameplay seems to be great and stylish. Seems like a super fun game.

I had just purchased splatoon 2 before buying it, otherwise I would probably purchase it. Perhaps I should give the ones on pc a try

That's the only one with a worthwhile story, in my opinion. Cursed Memories has like the most generic anime protagonist ever, and the story's pretty cliche. I don't think very highly of Disgaea D2's story, however; it's a continuation of the first Disgaea's story, by the way. But it kind of does make up for the lack of a strong narrative with its enhanced game-play elements, which is very much reasonable, since the game-play of the series has been improving with each entry of the Disgaea series since the initial release of Hour of Darkness.

I'm not sure which ones are on PC, but anything from 4 onward is great. D2 and 5 are my favorites. 1 and 2 are pretty good, and probably have the "best stories," but it's hard for me to go back to them after the latter games introduced new elements and better streamlining. If you wanna get into 1 and 2, get into them now before you play 5, since Disgaea is a series that kept getting better with each successive entry.

everything about 1 is real good

5 is good for that endless scaling rpg, lots of good systems in it. main game is kind of lame though

Start from the first game in the series and work your way up from there

All next games in the Disgaea series are improvements over the previous entry. Disgaea 1 is my favorite in the series, but it's really only because it has the best story of the series for me.

I bought Disgaea 2 as an impulse buy many many years ago, and absolutely fell in love with the series. The games are all incredible.

I'm actually debating rebuying Disgaea 5 for the Switch just so that I'll have it when they ship my ass back to Africa.

I'd really love to go back and play Disgaea 1 with all of the Quality of Life improvements of later games.

Disgaea 1 has the best story and humor, IMO. It is a great game and should be played first. The reason being, Disgaea 5 has much better mechanics and system but not as great of a story. The real joy in Disgaea games however, is after you 'beat' the game.

My opinion: Buy 1, play it and beat it (doesn't take long). If you are into it - by all means play the post game stuff. Personally, I'd jump right over to 5 and start there. You can easily get 100+ hours on any Disgaea game, but once you play 5, the others seem a little clunky. The stories in 2-4 aren't really that great.

Once you get into Disgaea, most other tactics games are way too slow and boring (looking at you Final Fantasy Tactics)
