as the original Sun and Moon??? I never played Black and White 2 but I assumed that games like these would actually give some sort of different plot? Ill keel playing I guess.

From what I heard, the game is mostly the same until you beat the main story and they added a new post game section with extra stuff like being able to catch every legendary

It's more similar to how Platinum added extra story to Diamond and Pearl. It'll basically be the same until towards the end, when it takes a different turn and new story elements come up.

Damn I regret my purchase now. I was expecting the opposite. New stuff off the bat.

There are a few differences such as wild pokemon, island scan pokemon, dialogue if you care about that, a certain somebody being a moron with a hero complex rather than flat out evil, lots more side quests, wild pokemon level increase, the original's strongest wild ones were 57 and 58, now they're up to 63 and of course 9 new pokemon with 1 of them only available through a future event

I'd say it;s wroth getting because of how easy the 3DS is to hack, so in the event they do manage to let you transfer stuff from the 3DS to the switch, you'll have everything you need especially if you're one of those living dex players or what event pokemon that have yet to be released such as AZ Flottee and original form Margearna

That was stupid. It was abundantly clear the whole time that these game were this generation's equivalent to Yellow version, Crystal version, Emerald, or Platinum. Black 2 and White 2 were the only time it was a sequel instead. This was never advertised a sequel though

there are a ton of new little side quests and events strewn along the game which are the highlight of the game, if you don't go out of your way to look for them though you likely won't run into any of them

if you're the type to just follow the wayfinder flag, the main story follows all the same beats up until the last island with some slight changes or improvements up until then, which besides the Electric Trial being entirely redone, don't add up to much of significance

Interesting topic.

I should also mention the sidequests should be done during the main story, because they're made with being done when you first get to the area in mind

if you save them for postgame any fights will be super underleveled
