some at least have the courtesy to turn away when coughing. But others? they just cough like nothing. Cough while talking to you, cough while eating at you, cough while walking towards you.
is it that hard to just raise your hand to cover your mouth when you cough? like really?

where does it matter where I live? you saying this isnt a common practice? especially among men?

covering mouth is pretty disgusting so i've automatically conditioned myself to always to turn to the floor or kneel down when coughing/sneezing not to mention immediately turn away or cover myself when people openly cough in close vicinity.

but yeah, one of the biggest germ spreaders in my workplace is when people openly cough.

a woman infected about 3-4 co-workers last year by walking around spreading her airborne seeds but luckily for me i was absent that day.

The only time i don't cover is dry coughing, if im alone. but anytime im with anyone/anywhere in public, i'll cough in the crook of my elbow. I try to sneeze in the crook of my elbow as well.

disgusting only to you maybe, but also really selfish (unless you're about to handshake someone). You turning away to cough instead of covering just spreads the germs openly to everywhere else.

I can never understand how people find it more rude to sneeze openly, but is totally ok just coughing openly.

i don't remember why, exactly, i started to but for as long as i can remember, I'll "close" my nose when I sneeze. not super hard but enough to where little/nothing comes out.

germs carried in droplets attract themselves to surfaces and stay there and as such you have a much bigger chance to spread things around by rubbing a nasty sleeve up against a door or table etc. than i have by coughing straight down towards the floor.
