Why does no one ever talk about that movie man?

It had an all-star cast, Macaulay Culkin, Christopher Lloyd, Whoopi Goldberg,Patrick Stewart, Leonard Nimoy it had a mix of cartoon and live-action. It was colorful. It had imagination.

But no one ever talks about it. It's like it stopped existing the moment 1991 happened.

Apparently there was an SNES game but I never played it.

It was a good movie. One of the last hand-drawn movies. The plot was very book-themed like a lot of great movies that came out close to that time (like Neverending Story, for example). It had a good voice cast with Whoopi Goldberg, Frank Welker, and Patrick Stewart. It's a timeless tale about how a boy learned to be brave (also a popular theme at that time).

I guess it was simply buried under similar movies that were just as good or better. It's a delicate balance, but that doesn't stop it from being a good movie.

The Princess and the Frog came out in 2009 and there's even been a couple since then, and there was a pretty decent number of hand drawn films between 1994 and 2009, including some non-Disney films...

But yeah, I remember liking The Pagemaster when I was a kid, don't know how well it holds up now.

I enjoyed it as a kid but it was a massive commercial flop so they kind of buried it and it was forgotten for a long time. It didn't get a DVD release until just a few years ago.

I remember the SNES game more than I do the movie.

I liked it at the time, but I have a feeling if I played it now it wouldn't be so good. LOL

I didn't know it was hand-drawn. I assumed The Princess and the Frog used computers for that like most cartoons these days.

The more you know

Is that the movie where that one normal size dude is tied down by a bunch of super small people?

That scene actually gave me nightmares as a kid for whatever reason

That sounds like Gulliver's Travels.

Gulliver's Travels?

And there's been several adaptations of that

My favorite is Ted Danson where he keeps talking about being an Englishman despite his crazy strong American accent

Garbage movie that simultaneously terrified me and grossed me out as a kid. Was also rather surreal and not in a good way. And yet I kept rewatching it again and again.

It's a testament to my love of reading that it didn't dissuade me from reading books, because I bet it would hinder and harm the cause of reading more so than help.

I remember Pagemaster but I have no idea what it was about, Definitely remember Ferngully and Rock a do little tho. God damn that Owl was nightmare fuel and Haxxus reminded me of Oogie Boogie if he weren't fucking around anymore.

maybe. The pictures I'm getting on google don't look anything like what I remember though

There's a small section of The Pagemaster where they imitate Gulliver's Travels. Horror gets tied down after the group splits up after the Treasure Island bit.
