I know of a guy in the Army who is dating an underaged girl. I have suspicions that they have been sexual but no proof. All I know is he is manipulative and hurts her and her parents won't do anything to stop it in fear of her hurting herself.

Can anything be done about this?

Ages of both individuals, as well as clarification on "hurts her", is required.

He's 20, she's 15. He manipulates her and subtly insults her. Talks to her like a dog. Makes plans, gets her hopes up, then bails; calls her up just to make fun of her in front of his buddies.

To add (can't edit), he also sicks his exes (who are underaged as well) on her. It's all emotional abuse. Calls her fat; she throws up every meal because of it.

What the fuck, well if you know this girl then you need to convince her that this guy is a piece of shit. Maybe an older girl would be able to do it

You're a really shitty person. She's ten years younger than me; she is my friend's sister.

You can report it to his chain of command - 16 years is the minimum age of consent according to the UCMJ.

Would that apply considering no proof of anything sexual? Is there anything against non-platonic communication with a minor?

Doesn't matter what the age of consent is in whatever state he is in.

He's still subject to UCMJ and 16 is the age of consent. iirc he isn't even supposed to be dating her, even non-sexually, per UCMJ.

So if you know his chain of command or someone in his company/unit then you can go that route.

does he live in the barracks? Has he brought her over to the barracks, to your knowledge? or is he a guardsman/reservist? If he's brought her to the barracks, that alone is enough to get him in trouble cause Army wide you're not supposed to have visitors under the age of 18

Unfortunately, I don't. I did call a recruiting station and they advised I call the police in the town of his base. I mean, can bases just be called like that and would they take an anonymous tip like that?

Id never toy with anything like this; I truly believe this is a serious matter that is getting worse. Something needs to be done because it isn't just my friends sister...it's multiple underaged girls that he manipulates.

Well you can also contact CID - http://www.cid.army.mil (contact info at the top), speak with someone over the phone and they will probably initiate an investigation. I don't know what you expect to happen - unless you're following them around taking photographs and videotaping things as evidence, really all you can do is report your suspicions to someone who can take appropriate action. If they find reason to believe a crime has been committed then it moves forward from there, if not then he'll probably be moved to a different work center or command.

I would say go ahead and give CID a call - just because someone's in the military does not automatically give them a clean mental bill of health and it's entirely believable that some guy is preying on young girls.

She hasn't visited. That's actually one of the things he used to fuck with her. Said she could visit, then changed his mind. Next thing you know, his ex is bragging to her about he she's going to go visit him off base around town.

Thank you so much! I will definitely look into this.

If I had proof, I'd give it all up. I just hope he doesn't scrape by it all...that would be the worst. But thank you!

Police departments close to bases tend to have pretty good working relations with the units at those bases but yeah I mean CID is the Army's own investigatory command... Can't really go wrong with either one. And if one says they can't do anything about it try the other one. I'm pretty sure they will act on this though.

Ok. Awesome. Thank you again. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. All I want to do is stop this guy and force this relationship to end. It may not go that way; hopefully he at least gets scared.

this is a really weird situation going on.

Yeah, I'd report it to CID. Provide them as much information as you can about the guy. At the very least his first and last name, his rank, and what unit (company/battalion/brigade) if you know.

Even if he hasn't actually done anything yet, he's putting himself in a very compromising position that can very easily not only ruin his career, but his life as well. And if he has done something wrong, then he needs to be punished for it.

Also considering there's a military drug ring bust basically every year and a prostitution ring bust every few years it would not surprise me if there's more going on, either. I don't want there to be anything more, just saying it's good you noticed something fishy was up in the first place because that's how things like that get caught.
