And now they're talking about cutting entitlement spending to make up for the money, which is ALWAYS unpopular and has led to numerous political losses for decades. Not to mention the actual increase and effects won't be felt by most people until after the midterm. I hope Republicans keep pushing through things that are unpopular and ignoring the writing on the wall of an incoming wave election. It totally won't result in them losing control of the House. And it's showed no sign of slowing down. Maybe after the first few elections you could claim "Oh, it's too early and only one result" or "Oh enthusiasm for Democrats will fade", but considering this has been a trend across the country in a multitude of races for different positions, there's no reason to believe it won't continue.
