I can't imagine an AAA game running well off a flash drive.

Also a 1tb hdd is probably cheaper than a 128 gb flash drive.

It's slightly more complicated than plugging it in but not by much.
You need to figure out what type of connections your motherboard accepts and then you'll buy that connector type (cable) and a power cable for the hard drive. You also need to make sure that the motherboard has slots available, and that the case itself has open expansion slots.

Assuming you're going with USB, what you want is an external hard drive, not a flash drive. Flash drives usually have much, much slower read and write speeds and cost way more per-GB. The only advantages they have are the smaller physical size and not being as prone to data loss if you drop them. But if it's just going to sit there in the same spot it doesn't make a difference anyway.

If you're going with an internal drive you pretty much just hook it up, power on the computer and you'll get the prompt to format it. You'll have to manually specify install locations though. You can clone from the old drive to the new one but it's more complicated.

If you take it to a shop try to buy the drive yourself beforehand, otherwise they'll mark it up like you wouldn't believe.

No. In total number of terabytes on HDDs. But it was a joke and an exaggeration.
