I like part four but it feel inconsistent. I just finished Heart Attack Part 4, and Jotaro was able to get up despite being Swiss cheese, and Star Platinum clearly blew straight through Killer Queen, beat the shit out of Kira, AND did a The World timestop while it happened

But then Kira manages to crawl away fine and even cuts off his own hand and shit

Like in Part 3 Jotaro is practically a Mary Sue, he beat an unkillable stand by breathing in all the air in a room, survives being straight up crushed, he even beats Dio Brando, with Jonathan's body, without Hamon. But part 4 overcorrects, I feel. Or maybe they don't want him to steal the spotlight so they just have him not act at times that he would have easily ended things in Part 3.

Kira getting away the first time is dumb, but you should've known what you were in for after Dio survived Part 1. And Jotaro is still always hyped up, in fact I'd say Kira has a very accurate opinion of Jotaro as a threat after that fight

He jobs to make up for how invincible he was. Araki usually makes up a good excuse for why he jobs though. For example, against the rat, it had a long range weapon and Jotaro was more trying to train Josuke and he had to go out of his way to save koichi with SHA

In addition to what's been said, he also hasn't had to use Star Platinum in a long time. Being a Marine Biologist is busy work. It's why his time stop doesn't last long.

it doesnt last long because it strains his heart heavily. Dio has no problem with it because he was a vampire.

1. the newer stands are actually more powerful
I think that might have been said somewhere but not sure

2. Jotaro can't stop time for very long
his stand is basically just fast and strong and in the first episode it is shown the Josuke's beats his on both accounts

3. Kira stand was actually the most op thing so far in the story
it beats the world hands down imo

4. so point #4 is why Josuke is the star of this part
Kira himself says he hates that a stand like Josuke's exists since it counters his greatest power

Did he actually stop time though? Star Platinum is just that fast. I don't remember how it happened in the manga

Jotaro got jobed so that Josuke can have the spotlight, but at least he didn't got jobed that hard compared to Joseph transition from part 2 to 3.

Also how Kira managed to get away the first time was so fucking stupid. You got a guy who got Ora'd pretty badly and yet not only managed to drag a guy with him to the Cinderella and get a face change but after that managed to get away safely? He's still bleeding close to death, Cinderella doesn't heal your wounds up so when the hand got reattached, it should've been a cake walk to find him. Not to mention he was basically crawling, how the hell did he get to the store so fast? But even with all of that, Kira is still a great Jojo villain.
