As you know there's always that one toy that every kid wanted on Christmas..and every time a toy becomes so popular, it SELLS OUT causing a shopping frenzy among parents desperately trying to get their hands one...

The movie "Jingle All The Way" with Arnold is a perfect example of that toy fever that all kids wanted...

Some examples of popular toys over the years that kids wanted were Furby's, Beanie Babies, Wii, Cabbage Patch Kids, Teddy Ruxbin and of course Tickle Me Elmo...

This year it's "Hatchimals" but of course no one here is a kid anymore...

But what popular toy when you were a little one did you really want? and did you get it?

Uh I remember getting a furby, not sure if I actually wanted one before we got it and it lost its novelty in about 5 minutes.

Don't think I ever wanted "popular" toys.

The ones i most wanted were Ronin Warriors and Super Human Samurai Syber Squad (apparently it was spelled that way...)

never big on the toy's. preferred the video games ever since i was age 7.

though i remember the christmas times getting sega genesis, super nintendo and nintendo 64 through the years.

I think the Coleco Electronic Quarterback was such a toy, and, yes, I got it (and still own it, coming up on 40 years later)

Did you ever get the popular toy that everyone wanted when you were a kid?

Didn't really want a popular toy that I recall. All I've ever wanted was consoles/game related things and I got those for the most part.

My single mother, working full time at a crap job to support three ungreatful brats, somehow always managed to secrure the hot ticket items. The woman stood outside Toys 'R' Us in zero degree weather for hours to get me a Wii.

It really depends on the year. And keep in mind that there were a *lot* of popular toys over those years. I never got the MMPR Megazord, though =( Or the Samurai Megazord. Or, well, any Megazord. My brother got the Tigerzord, though.

tbh, I was so bummed about never getting that Megazord that I eventually wound up buying some high-end import Megazord a few years ago which doesn't transform but, unlike the real thing, is actually kinda poseable. And I was going to to get those 6-in MMPR Power Rangers figures which the build-a-figure Megazord -- grabbed the black and pink rangers -- but then I realized I missed the red ranger so I never got the rest.

An NES when I was about 5 (which I got) and a SNES when I was 8 (which I also got).

Other then that, I never really asked for popular toys. Most of the time I was just happy with clothes, books, or video games.
