There is no reason to criticize a movie for having more diversity

Saying a movie is bad because it is "not diverse enough" is silly

Adding things at the cost of artistic integrity is always bad. If you can convincingly argue that the chosen cast hurts the show or muddies the original intentions, then that is a valid complaint. But the vast majority of the time it should not be a big deal

This should all be common sense

What's wrong with kids seeing people of their own race and gender and possibly feeling a stronger connection to that character?

Well aside from racism and sexism nothing intrinsically harmful.

But that's not so much the point, the weird part is people like TC and the SJWs who insist on it and say it makes them happy

That's the part people take issue with.

It's like if someone says they won't sleep with Asian girls because they don't find them attractive. Okay that's not a harmful belief but it's fucking weird for onlookers to praise it and demand that we all be happy about it.

"You should like this character more because you both have vaginas or both are black or both have a Scottish Accent!" is a really dodgy soft segeration notion to teach people. It just leads to division. Part of the reason why in a lot of towns the large majority of minority groups often live in very close proximity to each other.

It's just bad ideals to teach people, the complete anti-thesis of equality, diversity and love. It's just stamping "You people are different, you people and your kind."

I'll say again, why is this any more "heartwarming" then some kid loving Lando?

That question will never ever ever be addressed aside from insults.

More than that, I think seeing a diverse group of people doing regular things is beneficial. Like, all Hollywood had was emasculated Asians and that's always really demoralizing. Then you have Jackie Chan, but everyone makes kung fu jokes and you feel like they aren't seeing you as you, but "just another Asian". You finally see a character who happens to be Asian and no other character traits tied to their race and you feel your existence has been normalized, you're not just some novelty or stereotype.

You've said repeatedly over and over and over and over and over again that it's better, superior for people who can be categorized as a group, as a "you people" feel a connection to each other. Rather than anyone with anyone else.

Then you run away when people say that's a bad thing.

The question you won't answer:

Why is it superior that some girl likes Rey as opposed to Lando? Or Goku? or Lara Croft? Or Kano?

In fact imagine it's some person with a bag on their head. You have no idea who or what they are, where they come from ,what they look like. And they say they love B.D Joe from Crazy Taxi.

Then they take their sack of and.... Why is your reaction to that statement any different if under the sack is a white girl or a black boy or a Japanese hermaphrodite?

Answer that honestly. Because the truth you won't admit to is that you're prejudiced.
