I vividly remember this being the main sticking point for trumpeters and republicans last year. "I agree with Trump on most everything, but I don't need want him to repeal NN", was the general gist.

What happened guys? What made you go from that point of view to "Obama era government overreach, the internet will be just fine" in just a few months?

Because it's not about what's good or what's not.

It's about winning.

Democrats want one thing and the GOP want something else. What the GOP wanted is what ended up happening.

It's like a football game. You just cheer for your team.

I don't need to say how fucking dangerous for democracy this way of thinking is, but anyway.

TC is incorrect.

Conservatives by nature are against more government involvement and restriction.

The NN bill was never looked at as good by conservatives because it was 400 pages of nonsense,

Same as the 900 page ACA.

Yes, but those conservatives are stupid and can only parrot nonsense about the evil government regulations in every situation. That doesnt apply
here but theyre too intelectually dishonest to admit it.

I don't suppose you can see any glaring faults with the idea of using 90s era internet as a basis for how it should work today? Like you can't perhaps see how new technology might allow ISPs with vested interests to screw you in new ways?

No of course. Let's just let Comcast's do whatever they want, what could go wrong?

I don't get this argument.

NN existed because this shit WAS starting to happen.

Like damn it hasn't been that long ago ISPs were throttling the ever loving fuck out of people using Netflix

Now there's nothing to stop Spectrum, my only ISP in the area, from royally fucking me in the ass if they do choose

Odd because AT&T just came through my neighborhood and did a fiber upgrade and lowered the cost for people on the upgrade.

The technicians spent a good month or more in the neighborhood running new fiber to peoples houses.

Translation: I individually did not see or notice any problems with my internet prior to 2015, so no one else had any issues at all in relation to net neutrality.

Conservative mantra. It didn't happen to me individually (or I didn't notice it) so it didn't happen at all.

There are documented cases of ISPs blocking VoIP and peer to peer services as well as throttling streaming services. This has been explained to Mal_Fet multiple times, but he still says bullshit like that.

Your whole problem with your approach is assuming just because something didn't happen to you personally, it didn't happen, and that's a fucking stupid way to view things.
