What the fuck

Couldn't it just have like some genetic mutation that makes it grow faster?

And please tell me they didn't kill it...that'd be so fucking lame.

Holy shit. I didn't know they lived that long. That's insane. The average life span is 400 years. FOUR HUNDRED. My mind can't comprehend this.

They're studying it's bone and tissue so I assume they did. How sad.

Says nothing about killing the shark. They likely just took biopsies.

Fucking humanity sucks

Unless they can use it to create some vaccine that grants us all 400 year lifespans out of it

But still, the poor bastard survives the rise and fall of several empires, two world wars, and more, just to be killed prematurely so scientists can examine him

Should be illegal to kill creatures with such long lifespans.

This.

Before I read that part I thought it was like shark Moses. This is basically like a person making 100 or so. Old but not freakish or unheard of relatively speaking.

Still cook af

Meant to say cool. Lol.

I love meat and all but that shark definitely deserves better than being eaten by some guy whos almost assuredly not even making one lousy century.

it's not over 500 y/o, sensationalist tabloids always exaggerate things.
it's true that the species has long lifespan, but the one caught was "only" around 270 y/o.
