Also in regards to bringing dogs to restaurants as long as you leave them on the ground it isn't considered a health code violation. That's what the breakfast restaurant we always take Ernie with us to said. They know about the bacon pic we took and love having him there because they've seen it all over. They just told us to make sure we don't put him up near the table like that again. Luckily he was only up there for the split second we took the pic so I don't feel too bad about it.

Lots of cities are extremely dog friendly. For me, I don't have an issue because I like dogs but I can see how it'd be annoying to people who don't or are allergic.

People are generally way weirder about their cats. Specifically women... women get completely irrational and will think weird shit like their cat is pissed off at them. Cats forget stuff like 5 seconds after it happens

Maybe different places have different rules, or maybe if they make it clear that an establishment is pet friendly it is allowed. AllI know is that when I worked in restaurants we were told no dogs could come inside even if they were small or well groomed. Owner claimed it was a major code violation.

If a server seated a party with a dog by mistake wed have to approach them and tell them we couldnt serve them which was always awkward. Sometimes theyd get very upset. We would at least comp the drinks they had ordered and put them to go cups though.

I only ever sit with my dog outside at places I know to be dog friendly. Heck we waited an hour the other weekend for outdoor seating since we brought Ernie.

While I see your point, if I am a business owner, and I think allowing dogs in the place is going to bring in more customers than it will drive away, guess what, I will allow dogs.

Yeah, dogs are awesome. Adopted one when I was seventeen. He got sick, I couldn't afford to take him the vet and he died.

Haven't had another since. The guilt is too real.

I'd much rather eat in a human/dog restaurant than a normal human one.

I've seen a cat go to the back door and want out while it was raining, get let out and be like, "Oh shit i better go back in" and then 5 seconds later do the same thing about three times in a row. This was a cat of seemingly average cat intelligence. And I also live with two cats now

Not an intelligence issue, it's a matter of "I've got to go.... eh, fuck it, raining. But was it really raining that hard? Yeah, I can't do this. But I've really got to go so let me try this again... fuck it, I'll go later."

tbh, we've all had "Was it really that bad?" moments where we realize it was and then question it again.

i've had cats like that and they all knew we had a litter box and used it often themselves.

i've had cats that wanted in and out back and forth on perfectly fine days too. I think they are just fickle

My St. Bernard puppy has ridden the public transit. That was a complete nightmare. Only reason she was allowed on was because I put a guide dog in training vest on her.
