Fake news?

http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/12/entertainment/star-wars-the-last-jedi-review/index.html

In crass commercial terms, no clairvoyance is necessary to predict that "The Last Jedi" will be a huge hit, blunting any criticism. Yet if "The Empire Strikes Back" stands as the defining chapter in the "Star Wars" saga, as second movies go, "Last Jedi" ranks closer to the "Attack of the Clones" end of the gene pool.

... that's a stupid statement. It's essentially saying it's closer to a horrible film than arguably one of the greatest sequels of all time? I mean.... that's like a billion shades of gray between black and white and all it's saying is that it's on the grayscale somewhere closer to one than the other. It's an empty statement.

Plenty of reviews are saying that this is the best SW movie since ESB.

http://comicbook.com/starwars/2017/12/12/star-wars-the-last-jedi-rotten-tomatoes-96-percent/

At least according to Rotten Tomatoes. Star Wars: The Last Jedi currently enjoys a 96% on the Tomatometer, a rating made up of 88 Fresh reviews and 4 Rotten reviews (92 total). So far the average rating is 8.3 out of 10, and that puts it higher than every other Star Wars movie released thus far.

yeah, but they also said an entire subplot is a bore (which everyone I've read seems to agree with), so the number isn't probably as important as the content of the article.

I just thought this was funny, given the fake news narrative, and considering they're definitely in the minority here.

people like you annoy the fuck out of me
how the fuck do you not realize how a news network works
you think they just dedicate 100% of their assets to current geopolitical events?
how the hell do you think these things work
do you think before you post?
how do you read the news?
do you even read the news or do you peruse headlines and go off of them?
do you realize that sometimes headlines do not accurately reflect the contents?

that just means 93/110 reviews gave it a 'favorable' score, which can be as low as 6/10. AtoC is about a 6/10 without Star Wars nostaliga glasses on

what a garbage clickbait article lol. What it "debuts" at is meaningless. Just link the actual RT page
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_wars_the_last_jedi/

Critics Consensus: Star Wars: The Last Jedi honors the saga's rich legacy while adding some surprising twists -- and delivering all the emotion-rich action fans could hope for.
