How come "homerun" is literally "honron/jonron" in spanish? I don't know how to spell that word so I put both.

Speaking of baseball, why is it called and spelled "beisbol" in Espaol?

Both words in spanish literally don't make sense.

Likely they don't have a spanish equivalent so they use a (butchered) english version of the word. I've seen that a lot with other languages.

I don't know if this is relevant, but in Chinese, the word for "typhoon" is two characters that when pronounced, sound eerily similar to the English word: "".

Holy crap, I'm some kind of idiot. It's like the English word, "typhoon" is meant to sound just like the Chinese word for "typhoon".

They're loanwords. It's an extremely common thing in languages.
