Do you think he made a wise decision to buy a $400,000 house?

34 y/o Johnny Bobbitt Jr, a Homeless MARINE Veteran from Philadelphia will no longer by styling his hair with a toilet brush after he became a viral hit after 27 y/o Kate McClure profiled him when he gave his last 20 dollars to her so she could use it to buy Gas..and then she turned around to set up a Gofundme page for him for his selfless gesture and raised 400,000+..which he used to buy a HOUSE..and a 1999 Ford Ranger TRUCK!!

He also said he donated some of that money to another homeless veteran named Jeff Johnson that he kenw!!

Kate ran out of gas while on Interstate 95 exit ramp just before midnight..she started to panic and phoned her boyfriend, Mark D'Amico and asked him to come and get her when Johnny approached her and told her to stay in her car and lock the doors before he went to get gas....

He walked a few blocks to buy her gas with his last 20 bucks and poured it into her vehicle.

Kate had no money to repay him but promised to return..and she went back with her boyfriend, Mark and gave him back the 20 bucks as well as food and water.

Kate and Mark set up a fundraiser to help him which took off immediately as donations poured around the world

He was originally from North Carolina and was blown away by the generosity and said "It's all happened so fast. I'm just happy i'm getting a second chance at life"

He served in the US Marine Corps and worked as a paramedic in North Carolina before he lost his job and was penniless

Details of how he wound up on the streets were sparse as he told BBC it ws a mix between bad decisions and bad situations

2 trust funds and a bank account was set up with the donated money. One will give him the ability to collect a small salary each month and the other as a retirement fund.

Do you think he made a wise decision buying a 400,000 House?? let's see what people think

Blew it all on a house? Can he even pay the property tax? He'll be back on the street in no time.

Also after taking a "gift" like that you lose all your government aid.

Probably not since you could get a cheaper house and save some of the money to cover expenses or as a rainy day fund. Otherwise they donated money to get him a home and he got a home.

If he was living on the streets, he probably wasn't getting much government aid in the first place. He certainly wasn't getting Section-8 and, without a permanent address, he might not have been able to get other services.
