I just ran a 5k, followed by a bit of light weightlifting.

I know a few people who followed the couch to 5k program, and it seemed to work relatively well for them.

I'm currently deciding if I want to redo the half marathon next year or up it to the full marathon. I was woefully unimpressed with my half marathon time.

okay do sit ups and push ups work out his legs?

no.

sit ups aren't going to help you run a mile.

could he do leg exercises to strengthen his legs? sure.

running doesn't just use your leg muscles though. running also involves your core and your arms.

I was a sprinter in high school, so maybe long distances are a bit different (i think the mile is considered short or medium distance though).

sit ups in general kinda suck anyway. planks are better

okay. i'm not really going to argue with you. you don't need to have muscular legs or a strong core to simply run a mile.

Wear a 10 kilo turtle shell all day everyday, and dig up fields with your bare hands, do construction without powertools, delivere milk, swim in a shark infested lake, dodge bees while tied to a rope, and study.

Are montages acceptable?

No, but time skips after the seeing the first day in full are allowed, to the day before the race

Ah, thanks for the clarification.

You forgot that Roshi actually let them use basic tools after a certain point because he just didn't give a shit

it was supposed to say high rep, body weight

so, lots of reps, but only using your body weight.

idk though. I think it would help out, but it seems as if others don't think it would. I'm not trying to be mean when I say this, but perhaps try to research this on your own and come to your own conclusion.

Jen doesn't discuss, she proclaims. Her bf almost finished nutritionist school and was an mma fighter, therefore Jen knows everything about nutrition and physical fitness.

I mean what you were saying had no factual basis and your only source was a list that listed food with good fats.

Yeah we weren't even arguing like that. It's not serious. Obviously being fit and healthy will help you run better but tc just literally says he wants to run a mile so what you were saying goes above and beyond that.

Pull ups, push ups and sit ups aren't going to do anything for your running.

They can actually by helping him lose weight (even if minorly) and by increasing his VO2 max.
