Scenario: step mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I said shoes. Two weeks later my dad lost his job and idk what they are doing but they have 2 kids. Im 24 with a job and new car, so I kind of feel like a scumbag not saying anything. However, I dont want to ruin my dads ego by saying you dont have to get me anything for Christmas. Help?!

I say you should accept whatever they give, without bringing it up again. If you're concerned about their finances, maybe get them food or gift cards as gifts to help ease any burden Christmas may have caused.
