Why would his supporters reject him over this? Obama engaged in the same kind of hyperbole -- literally parroting the "women make 77 cents on the dollar" and "1 in 4 women are raped" myths when he wanted to push an agenda. Obama's supporters didn't reject him for that. I don't see this being any different, so your expectations surprise me.

They will turn a blind eye and forgive him for literally anything under the banner of "identity politics" so long as he

1) builds the wall
2) kicks out the Muslims
3) continues to pretend he can bring the coal mines back

That's the strategy. He discredits media outlets and tells people that the only thing that's true is what comes out of his mouth or other propaganda (Fox, Brietbart, Infowars). He tells his base that he wasn't on the Hollywood access tape and they believe it, even though he admitted it before. Nothing matters.

Because admitting he's not only fine with but fully supports racists doing racist things would actually make him an honest person, but he'd have to admit his shitty perspective on minorities and can't keep claiming he's a rational and fair person (which anyone who's talked to him knows he isnt).

There are aspects of the wage gap that cannot be explained away. Even economists would agree.

1 in 5 women on college campuses are not raped, but that's an accurate ratio in terms of sexual assault (which includes unwanted touching, kissing, and the like).

Meanwhile the video Trump posted wasn't an "exaggeration" or "hyperbole." It was just a flat-out lie. That's the difference. It doesn't make either tactic "right" but Trump is clearly worse.

Promoting a video from an alt right leader that is completely fictional to promote xenophobia (and then admitting that you dont even care that its fake) when his entire platform is about attacking suppossed "fake news." Seems a bit ridiculous for the pres to retweet anything from far right (or left) leaders. And the hypocricy in the reaction to it being fake is laughable.

What Obama did is sleezy as well, he lied about how bad those two issues are. Lying about the extent of victimization is a shitty thing to do, but not as shitty as lying to promote xenophobia (especially to groups that already face enough as it is).

I don't know why I keep saying this..but really at this point how can people support Trump.

This is much worse

No, it really isn't. It's EXACTLY the same.

It is not exactly the same

How is it different in any way?

Promoting a video from an alt right leader that is completely fictional to promote xenophobia (and then admitting that you dont even care that its fake) when his entire platform is about attacking suppossed "fake news." Seems a bit ridiculous for the pres to retweet anything from far right (or left) leaders. And the hypocricy in the reaction to it being fake is laughable.

What Obama did is sleezy as well, he lied about how bad those two issues are. Lying about the extent of victimization is a shitty thing to do, but not as shitty as lying to promote xenophobia (especially to groups that already face enough as it is).

He didn't lie about 'the extent of victimization.' Both statements are straight-up lies, with no basis in fact whatsoever. This has been proven time and time again.

He repeated bald-faced lies to perpetuate a message, then doubled-down on the message after being proven wrong - EXACTLY like this.

You just defend it cuz liberals can do no wrong in your eyes.
