Is the game actually good, or all hype? The last game I played like this was Quake Arena and TF2 -- before the hats.

A friend of mine picked it up for me for $20. Is it actually a fun game, or is it as content light and shallow as it seems on reviews?

Feels super barebones for a fully priced game. I played the free weekends, was alright for maybe 1-2 hours playing as the fat girl with the ice gun but that's about it.

Eh. I don't like 6v6 and it's really class-interaction specific as well as a bit too much RPS.

A lot of people love it though so I think it's worth a try. I get my fix just fine from TF2 and CSGO though.

Like I definitely think it's fun (at least depending on the map, there's just a couple I really like) but you need it to grip you to be worth $40-60 and it didn't do that for me. It's just something I play very occasionally. I don't like the character designs and you can't shoot the shit with Blizzard players like you can with Valve players.

Compared to like battlefield or CoD I'd say it's different because one person screwing around in comp will lose the game for you. Like someone playing attack torb on a payload map is pretty much RIP unless you're in like gold league.
