You do apparently need to download a fan patch to make it worth it though.

yes, but wesp's unofficial patch tho (the basic version, not the extra content for your first playthrough)

also leave nosferatu and malkavian for later playthroughs for your starting clan

I'm only kinda familiar with the families. Nosferatus are the ugly ones, Machiavellis are the insane one?

Sorry it is Malkavian (it's been a while). Yes they are crazy. They are fun but definitely not recommended for a first play through.

the game is short enough that multiple playthroughs are gonna be a thing if you liked it the first time. definitely play malkavian, but leave it for a second or later playthrough. it's great but you won't get as much out of it if you do it first

Pretty much this. For the time, it was amazing. It will probably come off as a bit cliche and trite nowadays. I'm glad I played it once, but I probably wouldn't go back.

also you don't need to download the official patch if you buy it on steam. wesp's unofficial patch has to be downloaded and installed but it's not hard to do

www.gog.com - it's a digital retailer that sells DRM-free games. They keep shit patched even after the publishers / devs have dropped official support for it. So the GOG version is the easiest version to work with "out of the box". It's not hard to fix the Steam version, too, if you got that, it just takes a little more work. You WILL need to find and download the unofficial fan patch if you have the Steam version, though.

In the game you choose a clan, each one has its own strengths/weaknesses. If you play as Nosferatu, you basically have to work a little to stealth a lot of the game (sticking to sewers and back alleys for instance).
