Hey Guys, I spotted the other topic went, so figured I would make a new one! Also after advice

So making a 3.5 Goliath fighter and I am torn between feats (3rd level)

So I am torn between a compex fighter with Combat Expertise, Imp trip and Imp disarm with those sweet size bonuses to each OR

Power attack, Cleave and Powerful charge (2D6 on charge bonus dmg because technically large)

What do you guys think the better option is?

I'd go with the power attack, cleave, powerful charge combo.

Disarm's pretty useless if you're fighting monsters who don't wield weapons you can disarm.

Goliath Fighter, huh?

So, are you using the Dungeoncrasher variant from Dungeonscape? If not...you should if you can.

I had a similar character before, except it was a Barbarian/Rogue, using the rogue variant that gets fighter feats instead of sneak attack.

Good feats: Power Attack, Imp. Bull Rush, Knockback, Shock Trooper
If enemies charge a lot, adding Cometary Collision to the above results in some hilarity.

*high five*

Got the whole series on DVD! ... I should not be as proud of that as I am.

I was looking at rogue in fairness and using a large great flail (how awesome!) with trips and disarms and sneak attacks, but figured take more feats that can use the powerful build side! What does shock trooper do?

Heh, my Goliath used a Heavy Flail and did all that fancy stuff (disarm not so much, though).

Shock Trooper is a tactical feat.
https://dndtools.net/feats/complete-warrior--61/shock-trooper--2614/
The Shock Trooper feat enables the use of three tactical maneuvers.

Directed Bull Rush: To use this maneuver, you must make a successful bull rush attempt as part of a charge. For every square you push your foe back, you may also push that foe one square to the left or right.

Domino Rush: To use this maneuver, you must make a successful bull rush attempt that forces a foe into the same square as another foe. You may make a free trip attempt against both foes at the same time, and neither foe gets a chance to trip you if your attempt fails.

Heedless Charge: To use this maneuver, you must charge and make the attack at the end of the charge using your Power Attack feat. The penalty you take on your attack roll must be -5 or worse. In addition to normal charge modifiers (which give you a -2 penalty to AC and a +2 bonus on the attack roll), you can assign any portion of the attack roll penalty from Power Attack to your Armor Class instead, up to a maximum equal to your base attack bonus.

Most take it for Heedless Charge, but the other two tactics are a gold mine for bull rushers as well. You do have to wait till you have BAB +6 for it, though.

Looks kind of cool. In fairness our game is a tough one, deaths are the norm so cannot see getting to level 7 any time soon if at all! (4th level game hence lvl 3 fighter)

I am thinking Combat exp, Imp Trip, Powerful charge and imp disarm at the moment, with power attack at next level currently

Although Power attack, imp bull rush, powerful charge and cometary collision look kinda cool

Pathfinder guy here.

I'm actually starting a new campaign for my buddies. It's a homebrew setting centered around a form of magical radiation which has swept across the continent.

I'm planning on using the setting to up the difficulty and to teach them to utilize downtime. The smaller and more distant communities also means that they have to be more careful about how they go about things in town.

I've also added a fun little housing and modification mechanic to get them more invested in their living space.

I do as well.

Obviously, the only member of the group I identify with at all is Eric. It's a shame that the artificially enforced moral standards of the 1980s meant that he was never allowed to be right about anything.

It's not like the horse part is important to be a Cavalier right!

Well first session with the fighter, went with Powerful charge, Power attack, Cleave and Wep focus Great sword, I have a 3D6 Large greatsword for 2 handing and a standard medium Greatsword for sword and board.

Insane, it is insane... First encounter I charged a Minotaur and did 28 damage! At level 3!!! I was chopping down the fire dwarves we came across left right and centre too.

May have a new fave race!!
