Nobody has answered my original question of why or how Santa being gay adds anything to his myth.

Is more that -- Santa being straight and married (supposedly) also adds nothing to the myth, so if we've already allowed ourselves to discuss his choice in life partner then Mr. Clause has just as much of a right to exist as Mrs. It's literally the same argument for making him black while in a white-dominant culture.

You likely don't care if it's important to them, because it's not important to you. But because it doesn't affect you, you instead have to get very upset that they are depicting a character the wrong way.

Nah. I would have your back if you were someone who was willing to live your life and let other people live theirs. But you have to simultaneously get outraged that other people don't live like you because they're ruining your culture while chiding people because you perceive that they are being too vocal about their misfortune.

You don't have to be a violent terrorist to be a terrible person.
