Well "me and my other" is slightly incorrect and the Spanish equivalent would be "Yo y mi madre," pero "mi madre y yo" es la frase ms correcta

this
not sure if it's a grammar rule in spanish, but in english it's considered polite to always put the other person first "my mother and me" not "me and my mother"

in english you remove one article to see if it makes sense eg.

"my mother and i went for dinner", take her part away and you have "i went for dinner", so it's valid

"me and friends went to the cinema yesterday", take their part away and it's "me went to the cinema yesterday", not correct

i just didnt know how it works in spanish

Madre is formal. Mam is more casual. Keep that in mind.

yeah, I know. I wasn't talking about the "me vs I" grammar rule, I'm talking about "me and my mother" vs "my mother and me"
and there is no rule, it's just considered polite to put the other person first

This is correct. Id use mam though, since like someone else said madre is more formal.
