Not that anybody cares about the spoilers because this is either going to follow the movie everyone has seen or be an original story. Anyways time to get started!

Apparently this game is by Disney, Activision and Paradox Development. I googled the last and they didn't list this game at all under games they've developed so that's clearly a good sign. Opening is a clip directly from the movie with Simba being held up in the air while Circle of Life plays. For some mysterious reason triangle is the back button. I have never seen any game made BACK be TRIANGLE.

Stage 1 - Pride Rock. Another clip ripped from the movie plays. After that it shows me various colored Lion Paws each worth a different amount of points. I need 100 points to complete the level...I uh hope the whole game isn't going to be like that. Oh hey there's voice acting. Zazu sounds the same as he does in the movie so it's either the same guy or a very good replacement voice. I can't imagine they got everybody from the movie to do this so I'd expect at least some. Oh dear god I can't move with the left analog and you can't turn the camera either. This is going to be so awkward. I'm young Simba and all I can do is jump, roll and his trademark roar. Oh hey there are SIMBA letter tokens to collect too like in Donkey Kong. That's the first game that comes to mind anyways.

Oh my god there are flying enemies. What the fuck am I supposed to do when my attacks are like a 1m roar and a roll? I can't hit this stupid flying beetle at all. I have over 100 points now and the level hasn't ended so it must be a requirement by the end of the stage. Uncle Scar tells me to Roll to defeat my enemies. It took me 15 tries to roll into this moving beetle. Such amazing controls! Oh NOW it tells me I can POUNCE enemies by jumping and then hitting the roll button. Maybe introduce that sooner not that it's any easier to hit enemies with because it's more like a delayed belly flop than a pounce. There are gourd items to collect too that probably do something or other.

Level 1 CLEAR. I died about 4 times and they were all from falling off edges thanks to how awkward Simba moves and him having this weird startup run animation thing he does if you hold a direction for more than half a second. It says O will do BONUS which I'm assuming is a bonus level. Apparently it's a matching game so I guess it's just a Mini Game. Doesn't seem like you win anything doing it either. What a great bonus.

Another scene ripped from the movie and it's apparently Elephant Graveyard time already. I was able to switch to Analog control! Apparently you need to manually do that yourself hitting the Playstation button on the controller and changing the settings. Why it doesn't just automatically use Analog is a mystery to me, but maybe some PS1 games literally had no analog control somehow. Anyways this stage is a side-scrolling one so moving around is much easier. Oh my god there are so many hazards on this stage. There are small lava pits that spray embers up that damage you, birds flying around that dive into you, hyenas on the ground that take 2 hits and if you pounce them once they basically get a free hit on you because you're on top of them after your attack and there are other hyenas who throw bones at you all throughout the level. Halfway through the level turns back into full 3D for some reason. It's probably easier to just intentionally be hurt by the hazards than actually avoiding damage too XD. At the end of the stage I fight Banzai, Ed and Shenzi. I say fight, but it's more like the 3 of them just walked in a circle while I just kept hitting the bump button until they all died after 2 hits each. I'm rewarded with the movie scene where Mufasa stomps them. For collecting gourds I won a free turn at one of Rafiki's games apparently. This time my bonus game is MEERKAT BASH where I help Pumbaa sit on a meerkat...yeah >_>

STAMPEDE level is up next going by the movie scene that played after that terrible Pumbaa mini-game. Anyways this level is more hazards. You basically hold down and hope you aren't hit by any falling rocks or wildebeest while also having to jump over random holes in the floor. 3 hits look like enough to kill you after being hit twice took out 2/3 of my health. This was also somehow the shortest level so far. My BONUS GAME was the matching one again so there must not be too many.

Welp Simba is grown up now. I guess they're just skipping all the songs. This is going to be a short game if I'm already adult Simba unless there are Timon & Pumbaa stages. Adult Nala is already being shown in a movie scene too. I'm going to be heading back to fight Scar before I know it. Stage 4 OLD FRIENDS is sort of like a 3D version of stage two, but set in the jungle. Still lots of dumb animals to avoid including monkeys throwing.... uh it looks like they're literally throwing shit at me. It's brown and not shaped like a rock so yeah...gotta be shit lmao. There are lots of movie clips in this game and I see another at the end of this stage with Simba and Nala reuniting. BONUS is new this time. Bug Catching where you just catch bugs until you miss 3. I got bored after 30 and let myself lose.

Oh shit they kept in Timon's song about Pumbaa being bacon. Best part of the game so far. My objective on this stage is to Defeat Scar so wow I guess the game is almost over. The stage is simple enough and as "long" as the others. The fight is really pathetic and at 2 points during it Scar climbs up to a spot you can reach while rocks fall in various spots slowly. BONUS this time is MARTIAL ARTS where you hit hyenas with Rafiki. It's unfortunately really terrible!

Oh my god the game isn't over and Lion King 2 is up next :o It uses movie clips for that as well unsurprisingly. I'm still playing as Simba though and I have go to save his daughter. By now it's obvious there are like 2-3 types of stages and each is honestly very short (like maybe 2-3mins not counting the movie clips).

2nd stage of TLK2 part of this story is like the stampede stage, but with rhinos. I'm trying to make this more exciting, but they aren't really giving me anything to work with. Pretty sure I've done all the bonus mini-games now too.

3rd stage is OUTLAND ATTACK and I'm still Simba. I thought TLK2 was about his kid, but I guess making another playable character was too much trouble!

4th stage is CLIMB and there are quite a few rocks, logs and animals to dodge. Nothing too bad, but it would probably anny the 4-5 year olds this game is designed for. At the end I fight Zira who has the same gimmick as Scar, but with logs falling to dodge instead of rocks.

Welp that's the end. Wasn't really as amusing as I hoped and the controls were slightly better after enabling analog. Wouldn't recommend it to anybody and even though I barely recall them I'm fairly sure Jungle Games and the SNES Lion King game were better.

If you ever want to see some disturbing stuff about Lion King games, go search Lion King Bootleg on YouTube.

I can't even post the link to the video as I'm sure it'll get me modded.
