yet people still s*** on it. A game with no microtransactions (even if temporary) is better than games like AC origins and CoDWW2 with microtransactions in it.

I can't really say if its better, as I haven't played Battlefield 1, or any recent COD, which would be the best comparisons.

But it's got PLENTY of issues right now besides (temporarily suspended) microtransactions. The in-game progression is woefully slow because credits gained per match is so tiny, and then what you can get with them is random. The fact that there are people who have been playing (and some buying boxes) for a week already means level 0s are getting slaughtered by level 20s in every match. Related to that, stat boosting star-cards is a terrible idea. There should not be 30% damage boosts, 30% defense boosts, health regen on kills, stuff like that in a MP shooter. The big galactic conquest matches are too short. Every server is on the same map rotation, and there's no server browser.

I could go on, but the point is that the game as is has serious issues that need fixing before proclaiming it the best anything.

Another key problem is that the "progression" system is just really, really terrible. Even without microtransactions it feels like a cheap Facebook game in that respect. Which is a shame, because the rest of the game feels sooooo good.

If true, it's not funny. It's sad as ****. Hundreds of developers that work harder in a day than I do in a month have to see the fruit of their labor **** on. Receive death threats. Read conversations surrounding the game that has little to do with the content they actually created.

They just wanted people to have a good time playing something they put their time and spirit into.
