Yes No View Results As much as I think the Metric system is neat and far more efficient than the English system of measurement, I think it would be very chaotic for Americans to change systems anytime soon. People are so used to English units that it would be hard to change to Metric. People don't seem to realize that "officially changing" the measurement system doesn't actually do anything with regards to what people use in their daily lives. Plus all it does is make things easier to convert in your head. That's not a great enough benefit for everyone to personally care to switch. Anyone who thinks so has already switched. English/Imperial is also designed "naturally". Things are on a human scale rather than optimized for scientific efficiency.
