What do you think?

As much as I think the Metric system is neat and far more efficient than the English system of measurement, I think it would be very chaotic for Americans to change systems anytime soon. People are so used to English units that it would be hard to change to Metric. I'll put my vote as "no", but I'm willing to hear arguments as to why we should change.

No. There's no point. Just use metric where it's actually important (we typically already do) and leave the general populace to whatever they want.

People don't seem to realize that "officially changing" the measurement system doesn't actually do anything with regards to what people use in their daily lives.

Plus all it does is make things easier to convert in your head. That's not a great enough benefit for everyone to personally care to switch. Anyone who thinks so has already switched.

English/Imperial is also designed "naturally". Things are on a human scale rather than optimized for scientific efficiency. It meshes better with daily life.

How?

Fahrenheit makes a million times more sense than Celsius for the weather. 0-100 F fits the temperature extremes far closer than 0-100 C.

0 C is a very common temperature in winter and it frequently drops much lower than that. 100 C is literally never encountered in weather. 0 F is closer to the winter minimum and 100 F is closer to the summer maximum. Fahrenheit utilizes much more of its 0-100 than Celsius does.

Literally the only benefit (weather and otherwise) of Celsius is that it's easier to remember two numbers for the freezing and boiling points of water, because it's just such a monumental task to remember 32 and 212.

You're arguing with feelings here, not logic. I explained in detail why Fahrenheit is better for weather. You're arguing why the freezing and boiling points of water are somehow arbitrarily useful for the weather. 0 is when water freezes, neat. What about the other half of your 0-100 scale that is literally never used for weather? What about the frequent dives into negatives when it inevitably gets colder than just the bare minimum for ice/snow?

Anything besides absolute 0 is arbitrary and that isn't particularly useful anyways. It isn't hard to remember two numbers. Real issue with Celsius is that the degree size is too large. Makes it cumbersome and annoying.
