I loved the first Uncharted, but its heavy combat-centric approach could get old at times. That said, out of the first three, it's still my favorite since 2 jumps around way too much (including the beginning which jumps back into hours of "flashbacks" leading up to it) and even 3 goes a bit too heavy on the jet-setting.

I've played 1 and 2 four times.
Once on ps3.
Again on ps4 on chrushing difficulty.
Then once again on Brutal difficulty once it was unlocked.
Then once more for the "speed run" trophies on ps4.

Played 3 on ps3 and half on ps4.

Played golden abyss once (that's enough. Touch controls make it annoying).
4 once.

Overall I think the series is decent. Linear as hell for sure, but I got enjoyment out of it.

Uncharted 1 had a nice story and fun characters. And nazi zombies. A bit battle heavy. A good challenge on hard mode, and to get the platinum.
Uncharted 2 had a great story, visuals and controls, was game of the year, and changed the third person genre and how games looked in general (from next gen grey and dull to lively and cinematic).
Uncharted 3 was great like Uncharted 2 and again game of the year.
Uncharted 4 (on the PS4) was superb again. I expected it to be less good (since 3 really ended the trilogy) but was proven wrong, the story is just great.
I haven't started Lost Legacy yet but it promises to be a lot of fun.

Also the multiplayer is great fun.

If you started with Uncharted 1 that may have been a mistake. Try starting with 2 (doesn't matter for the story) and play Uncharted 1 maybe later after 2 and/or 3. Uncharted one doesn't have the controls and balance down yet, and isn't as cinematic.

These games, with The Last of Us, are the best in cinematic, third person, linear story telling action games. with a great balance between exploring, shooting, fighting, sneaking, puzzling and platforming.

Loved the series. Great storytelling and character development. Gameplay was much better in 2, 3, and 4. While the climbing and gunfights are repetitive, I don't mind it at all as it's fun. Loved Last of Us, too.

I never played them when they first came out but picked up the remastered PS4 collection cheap on a whim recently, the story and dialogue are fun and graphics are fine but I was hoping for more Tomb Raider/Indy Jones style puzzles but it's more focused on combat which started to get tiresome after a while-by the end of the 2nd game, Nathan and his friends must have killed every merc/soldier in every private army and PMC on the planet.
Probably won't play the 3rd unless I hear that the new ones are extra good.

Uncharted 1 was alright. But bullet sponge enemies are bullshit.
Uncharted 2 had a slightly better story, and nice set pieces.
Uncharted 3 wasn't as good as 2. I felt it didn't serve the major plot point well enough. Mainly keeping the desert bits for the end and mostly in a interactive movie of sorts.
Uncharted 4 had it's moments. But overall felt lacking in purpose and story.

Notes about the series as a whole. The whole idea Drake is this 'everyman' character that the devs keep pushing is stupid given what he routinely pulls off and does. All the stories are exactly the same searching for something, dealing with bad guys in search of same thing, destroying it in the end. For a treasure hunter archeologist Drake has certainly ruined/destroyed a ton of important stuff. The dialog is probably the most predictable stuff I've heard in video gaming. In Uncharted 2-3 it got to the point where I could guess what a character was going to say before they even said it.

Well, the whole thing kinda rips off the Indiana Jones formula where every single artifact is incredibly dangerous and the hero goes from being a skeptical treasure-hunter into a full believer

"Uncharted 3" loses points with me for making you stumble drunkenly through the desert for literally ten minutes. (Yes, I timed it.)

And I was annoyed by UC2's carrying the cameraman through the streets, which was an annoying mechanic... granted, I love the payoff for that since it's such a dick move designed to get players to hate the villain
