The dude LITERALLY ADMITTED HE DATED TEENAGE GIRLS (with their mother's permission).

Not all the Roy Moore stuff is in the same boat, though.

The damning, career-ending allegations: He undressed a 14-year-old, touched her bra and underpants, and guided her hand to his underpants. She pulled her hand back, re-dressed and demanded that he take her home, which he did. If you want to say "light him on fire and feed him to the dogs," this is the stuff to point to.

The other stuff:
- He asked out a 16-year-old. Her mother refused to let them date. So he didn't.
- He dated a 17-year-old. Their relationship didn't go beyond kisses. (which I think is okay? unless you think 17-year-olds shouldn't be allowed to date, or shouldn't be allowed to kiss on dates)
- He dated an 18-year-old. Their relationship didn't go beyond kissing and hugging. He bought her cocktails although she was below the legal drinking age of 19. This is obviously not a good look for a district attorney who is supposed to be an officer of the law, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as sexual misconduct.

This other stuff is sorta relevant insofar as it shows that Moore was into people younger than him (so it sidelong corroborates the actual damning allegations) but there's no allegation of sexual misconduct here. Only with respect to the 14-year-old.

Its because Frankin is a democrat. This story will largely get ignored. If it is reported, it wont get NEARLY the coverage Moore got.

A) It is being widely reported on every news site, shitloads of liberal reporters have tweeted about it, too.

B) Moore has been accused of misconduct with MULTIPLE UNDERAGE girls so obviously its a little more serious?

there's also a corroboration effect. I initially doubted the 14-year-old's account based on what the other 3 women said (i.e., he did nothing sexually inappropriate, never tried anything beyond kisses and hugs). but now that there are three allegations of sexual assault/abuse on the table, you get a very different picture of a guy who repeatedly can't control himself around women

I feel like the big difference are the common people.

With Democrat voters, they tend to reject any sort of transgressions from their party. Not all of them obviously, but enough to cause them to lose an election. This is pretty damning for the party and we'll have to see how it impacts voters next year overall, but I bet it hurts a lot. Moderate swing voters who favor the Dems tend to turn on the party. But the Republicans? As we have evidence of in Trump and Moore, they don't care. They'd rather elect predators and victimizers than ever vote for a Democrat at all. You can see this pretty clearly in Alabama, where Moore still has a comfortable lead in the polls and will definitely win the election no matter what. It's much like when Trump even boasted about this; saying that even if he shot someone he wouldn't lose voters. He knows his supporters that well. They didn't care he was on tape talking about crotch grabbing, which would have been damning for anyone else. Him? It didn't matter. Hillary had too much bad press against her and the moderates were turning on her because of it.

Like most people who lean left, this story makes me sad and I don't find him very fit anymore despite my previous like for him. It's a shame I can't close my eyes and blindly stand for him anyway despite this, like so much of this country does for the other side.
