Would thoughts and prayers be enough to pacify the people who would be angry about losing their guns?

The only people who would need thoughts and prayers in that case would be the lawmakers who passed such a law

No. But it would probably make them feel better as the angry mob busts down their doors.

Why would the mob be so angry with all the thoughts and prayers sent their way?

Because thoughts and prayers don't actually do anything.

It's too early to discuss doing anything. They'd have plenty of thoughts and prayers to go around.

Thoughts and prayers for the disappearance of your guns, Mal_Fet.

Depressingly, that's realistically the most effective effort you have to take my guns.

The US military is comprised of US citizens, people who by and large go in with ideals to uphold freedom. Which side do you think the majority of the military would take if a law was passed to ban guns? Particularly since the UCMJ explicitly "orders" them to disobey unlawful orders?

i dont think theyd have to. the military is so pro gun and pro citizen that most would probably defect. that said there are ways to fight tanks and drones with little in equipment especially in urban environments with an insurgency force intermingled with the general populace.

that's cute but that wasn't against the US military.

The Battle of Athens (sometimes called the McMinn County War) was a rebellion led by citizens in Athens and Etowah, Tennessee, United States, against the local government in August 1946.
