For years, I thought something wrong.

I thought NPR would wrap up its final Marketplace segment before the 8:00 AM headlines by having Mark Brancaccio (or whoever) close with the time and affiliate. Just about every morning, I'd hear him say "from 8:00 PM, American Public Media"...and I would make fun of him in my head for not recognizing what half of the day we were in. It lead me to even think they just recorded the night before and were too lazy to say "8:00 AM" for the morning crowd. Like 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM wee close enough or something.

Turns out, I was wrong.

It's "from APM, American Public Media."

NOOOOOOOOOOOO, there goes my wooooooorld.

Who am I supposed to feel mentally superior to at 7:59 AM anymore? What do I do with my "fake news" joke I had for NPR? My life, why?!

Never understood they were going for an acronym! Hearing "8:00 PM" at 8:00 AM made me think they were just using last night's recording or something (no idea what they actually play at that time of night).

EDIT: plus it's NPR, so I never thought about needing to abbreviate American Public Media because I already had my acronym.
