Maybe it's because you updated it. It comes with it's own risks to not update though.

Firefox has caused me a few problems lately. I'm hearing the same thing from friends, too.

Firefox don't give five fux

Anyway they have given warning since 55 that addon system will be overhauled in 57. So addon creators had some time to migrate to new system.

You can't migrate addons when Firefox refuses to expose the necessary interfaces for them to work because they argue that the main goal of a browser is to remove features and be designed for idiots like Chrome is. Good job Firefox.

In hindsight my first response to this topic probably shouldn't have been to immediately update firefox and see what the fuss was about. Oh well, after some tinkering I got everything set up the way I like it except for the lack of noscript. Hopefully the developer manages to get that up and running with the new system soon.

And with that...pow! I'm gone!

Ugh, I've been dreading this happening. Haven't been prompted to update yet, but I'm going to try and delay it as much as I can.

I won't update because a number of addons are no longer updated and Firefox won't let me use the old versions.

Or the current versions are no longer 'safe' which is why Firefox thinks we should be using new versions. Like Steam Inventory Helper, which was bought by a CSGO gambling site and now fills your Steam pages with adverts for their site and even recently added a permission setting to see your passwords and other private data without any limitations on sites. My old Firefox version might not have all the features or work in current Firefox, but it also doesn't have any of that crap.

If you want updates without going to 57 and breaking stuff, I've seen people on another site recommend this.
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/
FYI, if anyone wants to go back to the old Firefox, the ESR version (meant for large organisations) will still be using the old interface and extensions etc until mid-2018 I think
They still release security updates for it as well

Cripes, why do all these fucking tech companies try to make the user experience as miserable as possible?
All I want is security updates, stop fucking with my user interface and features!

And the sooner this fucking trend of "minimalist" design (where useful features are hidden or removed entirely for the sake of putting less stuff on a web page) dies, the better.

Mine's still good, but I'm running on borrowed time it sounds like. :(
I don't want a knock-off Chrome or Edge, Firefox. The whole reason I still use you is because I HATE Chrome and Edge!

I'm currently using SeaMonkey, but since they don't have the manpower to deviate too much from Firefox, they've said they will be following what it does. The version of SeaMonkey I currently use is based on Firefox 49.

When websites stop working, I might have to eventually move to Pale Moon or something.

I hate Chrome, btw.
