Good luck with Zelda 2 whew. Other than that it's mostly smooth sailing. I happen to love Link's Awakening. Secret favorite.

LoZ: hard
Zelda II: Nintendo Hard!!!!
ALttP: couple choke points, pretty easy.
LA: easy except for final boss
OoT: easy after Master Sword
MM: if you do no Side Queats Ikana and Great Bay can be hard with 5 and 6 hearts.
WW: Easiest major game in series
Ages easy, seasons medium
Minish cap. Depressingly easy.
FS: can be hard
FSA: can be hard
TP: hard a lot.
PH and ST: final boss hard cause of control scheme gimmick.
SS: a bunch of hard parts
ALBW: easy
BotW: you kinda dictate it.

I generally don't like girls who share my escapes. I use sports and games to have "me-time." The last thing I want is them RUNNING THEIR GODDAMN MOUTHS during "me-time."

No Barrier Skip on normal version of Wind Waker...

In TWW's case, there's a bunch of QoL improvements. But no matter how you play it, it's a masterpiece. TP doesn't really do much beyond some minor additions and some better textures.

To maximize your enjoyment and minimize your chance of giving up, break the series into groups. Play each group in its specific order, but do the groups in any order you want.

I've played most, but not all, but it would look something roughly like this:

OOT -> MM -> WW

TP -> SS -> BotW

LttP -> LBW

LoZ -> AoL

LA -> Ages -> Seasons -> MC

FS -> FSA

PH -> ST

yeeaaaah this isn't a topic about you so there's no reason to get into an argument but if playing a video game with you and like, interacting with you, at all, makes you feel they are "running their goddam mouths" then you and I have very different ideas about what constitutes a stable relationship.

Zelda II is a legitimately great game btw.

It's definitely super hard and I wouldn't blame you for dropping it, but it's so rewarding to get good at the combat. I think it's also harder to get lost in that game than Zelda 1. It's just combat that gets people.
