Think I'm safe to say my computer can run it after fighting the squid boss. Still haven't done Blitzball, but I dunno how long it'll be before I play it. At least I'm sure this game can be popular on the board, see how much I get through before I start talking to myself, throw a tantrum, and then let the topic purge, ahaha~.

Anyway, yeah. Met Rikku (for real, she's not just ????), and learned Tidus has something of that coma stuff. Suddenly skipped a thousand years. Poor other people in Zanarkand, they all ded. (even if any others survived, I doubt even FF randomly has thousand year old people in the wo- ... There probably is one in some FF game.

Uh yeah, feel free to ask stuff, the blind"-ish" is because I do know random story spoilers, but also don't know much regarding early on. So also give the usual advice you might give a newcomer to the game.

Uh, like a lot surrounding Seymour. I know that Yunalesca is a spoiler but thankfully don't completely get who she is (yet), I know Jecht is like... the body Sin lives in currently... Something about Tidus having to sacrifice himself at the end to beat Sin... Yeah, just a bunch of endgame stuff. BUT WHATEVER, not like it should take away from the blind experience.

Successfully hit Tidus's Overdrive (wasn't perfect, but actually landed in the yellow).

Now watched the sending and that's it for today's progress. Feels weird to have seen... Was this everyone? 7 party members? Since we had Auron and Rikku join then Tidus left the party, and we just had to follow him. But yeah, more to come.

Kimhari is actually a Blue Mage and he has a weapon called Dragoon.

The fact that I could avoid the Malboro fight makes me believe at the time we're not ready for it. Also, what's up with the supposed stat-less ness of weapons? Are they really stat-less and you just equip them for abilities or does it just never tell you stats?

Second, approximately when is the first time you get something to remove locks on Sphere Grid? And while I'm at it, S.Lvl determines move, but is it always one space or do you get to skip over anything you've already moved on?

In any case, fought the boss that I forgot the name of already, weird shell-plant. Used Valefor since couldn't use magic with the hands still up and he had magic. Plant still finished him off but took out the two hands and forced him to open up and get chunked.

No stats, just abilities

You can move backwards over spaces you already activated 4 spaces for 1 Sphere level. You get level 1 lock spheres pretty early but the others take a good while to get

Holy crap Lulu just barraged Wakka intensely, I'm questioning if I think she's a bitch or not for it, since it ended being a pointless banter since Wakka just seems to not care regardless. I wanted to respect Wakka a bit for his older brother aspect, but the mental *coughcensored* is a bit overwhelming to how nothing can affect him.

Went up to the temple and now we see the douchebags known as the Luca team. Kay, way to sound like cocky asswipes.

Of all things to stump me and get me stuck... I had to look up a guide because I didn't understand how to get through the fire wall when it burnt through the door... When all I had to do was remove the Kilika Sphere. Just like computer fire walls, need to get past it? Turn it off for a few moments. Good thing I did, as I would not have found that Destruction spot and got locked into the summoner's room. Quite annoying that you can get locked into the final room.

Ah well, Ifrit obtained.

Fought the machine on the Al-bhed ship, and played the cheap ass first match against the Luca team... like fuck why would you do that? Finals being your first match. Stupidly designed there. Saved at the end of it and that's that, off for now.

You probably could have deciphered most of Al-bhed from your conversations with them on the ship.

Some are lore and are arguably relevant now, but you won't be able to read them until later. Other are clues that won't matter for a while (and even then, we'll give you the answers as the scavenger hunt is dumb)

Turned it on for a short bit after doing some other things and watched many cutscenes. Found what I already knew in that Jecht being connected with Sin, and then was introduced to the most important scene of FFX.

And then also learned that now I get to start recruiting people to my Blitzball team and play occasionally by warping back to Luca...

I feel like making a full new post simply on Tidus, specifically because the tantrum thrown around Auron is the moment where it's actually starting to seem... warranted. I respect the choice to make Tidus the way he is. He grew up his first years wanting to idolize his father... who trashed him and then left. So then spent the next 10 years growing pissed off since gone. Because he was raised essentially without a father, you can realize that part of him maturing up... having a father figure to look up to was really missing and kept him being a little bratty. Yeah, I think pieces are him just being too much of a brat... but now we go to the thing with Auron.

We're looking at the feeling that this guy... This one guy came from 1000 years in the future if everyone's telling the truth, came back to Tidus's time basically to yank him to this future where he no longer has a home... stuck in a world he doesn't know with people he doesn't know... And yet there are things that just make him homesick. We've all had these teenager years where we didn't know we wanted something until it was gone... didn't know how much we appreciated the simplicity of our lives until everything turns to waste in front of us. There's still a few pieces of his character I'd hate if they aren't fixed... especially just having his opinion of Jecht kind of shift, like quite a bit of his grudge disappear once they visit new Zanarkand in time. Maybe some other pieces... but it's still a long game, we've got time.

Don't get too worked up. I literally meant decipher, as in, use frequency analysis, common letter combinations and phrases, obvious vowel placements, etc, to figure out the language. Not very helpful in translating speech (people speak quickly), but it can be useful on the pillars.

It's kind of fun. I can give you the lines that you missed in Al Bhed if you're interested.

Oh, is there a way to check enemies I've scanned already? Like, overall? Or do I just keep track of everything and like keep a Bestiary around if I want? Just added two more Ronso Rages, glad Scan exists so I can check for those without cheating.

I knew what you meant, I just remember that line from the first segment. I might look to try and figure it out after I start over in order to try and do some stuff I couldn't before, but not right now. I remember so far I've seen the Al-bhed language back on pillars in Besaid, on the sign at the start of the Kilika Woods, and now on this highroad with the one building. I'm not trying to translate since I believe I can eventually come back.

Usually one of the first pieces of advice is you should use every party member every battle for Max efficiency. If you didn't already know.

It's kind of annoying and not absolutely necessary but it's probably worth it.

I won't ask anything optimal, of course, just want to play at times myself and see what I can do.

Passed through the Highland, beat the Chocobo Eater, saw some easy Al-Bhed that I didn't try translating, got two more primers... Continued to not be used to Seymour's voice... and found Wakka's racism. Suppose in time I'll hope there's something to explain said racism, rather than just being like Crusadic Christianity and "they don't think like us, therefore they evil." But yeah, Seymour is heavily in the right. Onward to this next area... Which is still more road.
