I'll really enjoy a show but then it will reach that hideous third act where all the characters become assholes, fall out with each other and all the charm from the show is lost and you're just sticking it out to find out what happens. I give up at that point a lot of the time. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, HIMYM - things like that. South Park, after season 17. mostly unintentional, missed the S18 premier, and never went back to it. realized I didn't miss it, and moved on. The Simpsons, after season 12. unintentional. went to college, didn't have TV control. by the time I picked it back up, it was well into the awful years. been catching up on reruns, but I've likely still only seen 10-20% of the S13-S25 era. I missed the second half of Farscape for the same reason, but have since caught up. Family Guy, after the episode "Quagmire's Dad". intentional. that episode was incredibly insulting. even then, on it's own, I'd probably be able to get over it. but Seth actually tried to defend it -- "It always distresses me when I hear that the gay community is upset with us, because that's one group of people I hope would know we're on their side. I can safely say that the transsexual community will be very, very happy with the 'Quagmire' episode that we have coming up in a couple of months.
