Can't recall seeing topics about any of these, but today the sheriff announced that the Vegas shooter DID have money problems (ie, my automatic assumption) -- having lost "lost a significant amount of wealth" in the past two years. (Granted, the motive is still officially undetermined.)

(Yes, lolcnn)

The other, kinda bigger and weirder news I was surprised hadn't seen people mention at the time was that the brother was arrested for child porn.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2017/10/25/brother-las-vegas-shooter-arrested-child-porn-charges/798888001/

Most recently, tabloids have reported that the brother allegedly threatened to kill nursing home workers during a break-in, after he'd been prohibited from staying at the facility following his arrest.

The brother being arrested for childporn has been posted a couple of times.
What I wonder is how you can afford multiple rifles, modifications and tons of bullets if you got financial problems?

As its own topic? Maybe it was by somebody on my ignore list, then.

I'm guessing you're assuming that he bought them *after* he had the money problems and not before? >_> It's possible he had all sorts of stuff prior to the shooting, although I can't recall one way or the other. However, even if you're massively in debt, that doesn't mean that your money is gone yet -- it just means you have more debt than you can pay with that money.

It was posted weeks ago.
And I go by the early reports that said that he had shown no interest in guns before, dont know if that changed.
So sell your guns, get money.

Yeah, I think the shooter's father had been a criminal, too.

Whole family seems rotten.

Given that the arrest happened almost exactly a week ago, those posters must have been prescient. =p

Certainly makes an argument for the nature side of nature/nurture.

Zeus, I'm not calling it a conspiracy-- but not all of the accounts add up to those presented by the news. Also, the odds of all of those witnesses/survivors who are mysteriously dying off seems like an incredibly weird series of coincidences. Someone calculated the probability of them all dying the ways that they did within the time frame of their deaths and found them to be incredibly low.

I encourage you to dive deeper. I'll admit his family had an extremely alarming background, but that could have also painted him as the perfect target to frame. Can't trust what you read until there are enough dots to connect. Biggest mistake people can make is lock themselves in to a particular angle and be unwilling to budge from it.

Whole story is fishy as hell even if he was a lone wolf maniac.

What would the motive be tho? Taking out one person in the crowd and the rest to cover it? Getting us closer to banning guns?

Just like sandy hook being a conspiracy, what does anyone have to gain from it?

Given that there were thousands in attendance, it's unsurprising that a portion of them would die afterward. iirc, the only listed death I recall seeing though was a car crash which is a perfectly run-of-the-mill way to die.

Probably something you should have linked to, although I can't imagine there being much (if any) incentive to kill "witnesses" unless they were actual targets who escaped, which would just make the thing more bizarre.

When somebody likely to have done a thing does it, why does that automatically suggest "scapegoat"? Especially when there's no conceivable motive to justify another explanation? If it was terrorism, the terrorists would want credit. It's not going to false-flag us into a war. It's not going to false-flag gun control measures especially since even the bump stock legislation has stalled and that's something that SHOULD have been heavily restricted if not banned years ago.

Granted, even if he pulled the trigger himself, it's not like that stops rampant speculation about conspiracies. Claiming that somebody else was behind the attack and he was actually framed is just adding an extra, unnecessary step to the story.

But what's the alternative? Who would be behind it and why?
