I think the difference last time was the large amount of never-hillary's. Not all his initial voters were hicks. There was plenty to dislike about Hillary. Hopefully the dems won't make that mistake again to give trump such an advantage.

Trump only barely won the election (the results were well within the margin of error all of the pre-election polls had) and his approval rating has just about hit rock bottom in only 9 months. There is literally no way he can win a second term, even if the Dems run Hillary again.

And that's assuming he lasts until 2020, which at the rate the Russia probe is going is highly unlikely especially after the Dems get a major victory at midterms next year.

I don't know why anyone would want him not to serve the full term. The best thing about Trump is how utterly incompetent he is as a politician. He can't push through any of the things he wants to because he's simply too inept. Pence on the other hand, is exactly the opposite. He's the kind of guy that can unite the majority in congress to actually accomplish the things liberals have nightmares about.

As unlikely as it sounds I wouldn't rule out him getting re-elected either. It looks implausible as hell, to put it mildly, but how bad he looks almost doesn't matter. For whatever reason he has a lot of supporters who just straight up don't care and will stand by him no matter what, and traditionally more left-wing voters tend to not bother to vote unless they really like their candidate. I'm not sure Trump being hated has all that much impact, a healthy chunk of the people who hate him still won't vote against him unless the Democrats run their personal favourite candidate.
