Their vehicle crashed outside their gated community and bursted into flames.. They were at Route 91 Harvest Music Festival when Steven Paddock shot indiscriminately into the crowd window killing 59 and injuring more than 500 people. Dennis jumped on top of his wife to shield her from the bullets.. Brooke Carver, their 20 y/o daughter said their parents grown even closer following the shooting and said "After the shooting, they heard from all the people they cared about most. They were so happy. The last 2 weeks of their lives were really just spent living in the moment" Their youngest daughter, Madison heard a loud bang outside her window on October 16th and ran down the street to see what had happened and saw her parents car engulfed in flames...
